6:00

The alarm goes off. A gentle introduction to the morning, with a cup of tea and BBC Breakfast to start the day.

8:30

I start with a check of my schedule to refresh the priorities for the day. My role is very diverse which makes it both interesting and rewarding. With both a strategic and operational element, no two days are ever the same.

First on the schedule is pricing support for a customer looking to upgrade their Wi-Fi system. Cisco Meraki has been scoped out following a Wireless Survey carried out by our Network specialists. The customer is interested in spreading the cost of the investment and requested finance options be included in the proposal.

9:30

Next, it’s a call with our Strategic Account Manager at Datto to follow up on open projects and continue to move forward our longer-term strategic partnership goals. As a Top Tier Datto Blue Partner, it’s great to have access to all the tools, resources and technology that Datto offer. Having a robust Back-up and Business Continuity Plan is important to every business.

As part of the call, we finalise pricing for a key project being worked on by Jill, our Commercial Director, as part of a wider Managed Services Contract. This was a slightly more complex project due to the size of the IT estate, requiring close teamwork between the ITWORX UK and Datto technical teams to scope out the best solution capable of delivering full business continuity.

11:30

Ahead of lunch, I work on a couple of Commercial Process updates and internal meeting actions.

Time to squeeze in a quick call with our Channel Partner Manager at HighNet to schedule in our next Partner Review and agree agenda items.

Lunchtime, and off out for a walk to get some fresh air before the afternoon starts. I always try to take time away from my desk. It helps re-focus the mind, ready for the afternoon’s activities.

13:00

First, it’s a meeting with Jill for a scheduled review of the business plan, make sure all is on track and capture any new actions. Then it’s off to focus on one of our R&D projects to define the launch plan. These are always exciting projects to work on as it involves bringing new technology and services to our customer’s while working closely with our Technical team and Channel Partner Managers.

15:00

Mid-afternoon and it’s time to catch up with one of our customers for a client review. Customer focus is a priority here at ITWORX UK and it’s always great to spend time together to check-in and make sure everything is running smoothly. It’s also an opportunity to share any new updates and important information, while planning together any future project work ahead.

16:00

To finish off, I work to finalise a vendor agreement we are in the process of renewing and a quick call into Hayley, our Account Coordinator, to run through a few marketing items in support of the new product launch.

17:00

Once everything is complete, it’s time to close the computer and relax for the evening. The sun is shining so it’s off to meet a friend for a bike run after dinner. With lots of lovely places to go around Aberdeen, it’s the perfect wind down after a busy day in the office.
